JILL MACKENZIE

DIRECTOR OF MUSEUM AND AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT
HAGLEY MUSEUM AND LIBRARY

JILL MACKENZIE BIO

With thirty-six years of experience at Hagley Museum and Library, my career has encompassed many facets of the institution. I have held a senior leadership position since 1992, with a focus on audience engagement through education, exhibitions, marketing, and institutional advancement.

To further Hagley’s vision to inspire innovation in our audiences, I currently lead a team to plan, budget, coordinate, implement and evaluate all exhibitions, programming, merchandising, and audience engagement strategies for the museum.  Within the Museum Division is a team of educators and curators dedicated to providing exciting, interactive programming and exhibitions that inspire and engage visitors as they learn about history, material culture, social history, science, engineering, and innovation at Hagley. Hagley’s future plans include a new exhibition building, “Nation of Inventors,” that will feature our collection of nineteenth-century United States patent models.

I hold a BA and MA in Communication from the University of Delaware.
