UD GRANT PROPOSAL WRITING WORKSHOP
Date: Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Time: 8 AM – 4:30PM
Location: University of Delaware | Trabant Hall
UD Research Office is hosting the biennial Grant Writing Workshop on January 30, 2019. The workshop will be delivered by Grant Writers’ Seminars & Workshops, and the primary workshop presenter will be Lauren Broyles, Ph.D. This workshop comprehensively addresses both practical and conceptual aspects important to the proposal-writing process. Emphasis is given to idea development, identification of the most appropriate granting agency, how to write for reviewers, and tips and strategies that are of proven value in presenting an applicant’s case to reviewers. Regardless of the agency, participants will learn to write with a linear progression of logic, which leads reviewers through their applications. Strategies designed to merit a fundable review score are emphasized.
Attendees will also hear from UD resource staff during lunch, and will be able to choose an agency-specific breakout session in the afternoon. Agencies covered during this day-long workshop include: USDA, NIH, NSF, NEA/NEH and IES. A workbook of participant’s choice is included with each registration. If you need additional workbooks, please contact the UD Research Development Office by January 10th. Postdocs and Ph.D. students are welcome to attend the workshop. Non-UD participants from DE INBRE and DE ACCEL CTR sponsored institutions are welcome to attend.
